DACS wins award with extremely efficient wall fan

By |
8 July 2014

DACS has won the national Danish Business Award for the Environment 2014 (article in Danish). DACS won with our new wall fan MagFan.

The evaluation committee writes: "DACS is awarded in the category "Sustainable Products" for the development of the very efficient wall mount fan, MagFan. The big fan shows extremely high efficiency and can thereby reduce Carbon Footprint significantly compared to more traditional fans used in big industrial and agricultural buildings. Furthermore focus in the development process has been on optimizing operating conditions and on a design that is highly functional. Efficiency and flexibility in relation to different electrical grids, transportation, and choice of materials has also been well thought out. When the fan has to be discarded, all materials can be separated, sorted, and reused. The evaluation committee assess that MagFan satisfies the requirements for sustainable products."

The prize was presented by the Minister for the Environment, Kirsten Brosbøl, at an event in House of Engineering in Copenhagen. DACS now goes on to compete in the European contest.

Urban Futures - Creating Liveable Cities

7 March 2014
Urbanisation is taking place at an unprecedented speed and scale - most rapidly in developing regions. A century ago, less than 5% of the world’s population lived in cities. Today, half of us inhabit urban areas. And by 2050, more than 7 in 10 citizens will be urbanites, making cities global growth drivers.
